Terms and Conditions
The following conditions apply.
Freight:
Toll Couriers and Australia Post accept no liability for consequential loss or damage that occurs to parcels while in transport. We find this to be a very poor business strategy and have setup the following freight insurance scheme:
All freight shipped from Frame Care Australia is covered up to $200 to cover damages (not loss) occurred during freight. This is covered 100% by Frame CareAustralia. Frame Care Australia reserves the right to mend damages and/or supply suitable replacement lenses.
Additional freight insurance can be purchased as per price list. Additional insurance must be requested by the customer prior to parcel being dispatched from Frame Care Australia.
Accounts:
Frame Care Australia reserves the right to hold on to any job until an overdue account has been settled.
Warranty:
All our repairs have a one month unconditional warranty.
FCA temples and FCA bridges have a one year warranty.
Repaints come with a six month warranty for normal wear and tear.
Repaints:
The colour chart is to be viewed as an indication only as colours will differ from computer to computer, due to monitors and graphics cards.
Eye matches are best eye-match and can be a slightly different colour to the original.
The paint system used is a 2 pack paint as used in car painting, hence the repainted frame can have a different finish to the original.
Prepaid courier bags:
Frame Care Australia offers for purchase a pre-addressed, pre-paid Toll Courier overnight satchel as an affordable, convenient and quick option for you to send your next job to us.
Please do not use our Toll account number on any other parcel or satchel, as this costs a lot more than the pre-paid satchels, and excess charges will be passed onto you.
Pre-paid courier bags can be purchased in bulk lots of ten, so you always have a ready supply – just call us and we will organise for Toll to freight them directly to you.
Procedure for replacing diamontés:
The following is the procedure we are following to make sure all missing and loose diamontès are replaced.
Ultra sonic clean the frame to remove any dirt that has accumulated in and around the diamontés.
We then gently poke at each diamonté to see if it’s about to fall out.
Shell temples are then buffed for a nice clean finish. (where possible)
We then gently clean each and every hole with a setting burr to remove old glue & foil.
Apply a very small droplet of glue in each hole.
Gently fit a diamonté into each hole, wiping excess glue off.
Place the frame in a secure place to dry.
We do not just replace the obvious missing diamontees, as other/older diamontees can, and most often will, fall out in transport back to you. If we are already repairing the frame in some other manner (eg. welding), the set-up fee is waived and you will only be charged per diamontee used.
Spring hinge mechanism replacement:
Spring hinge replacements must be requested, if not, we will do our standard repair where we weld the existing hinge so it opens and closes but no longer has the spring/flex action. We only have one type of spring hinge mechanism available that we can use for replacement. If you request a spring hinge replacement and our hinge fits, we will be happy to use it, but if not, we will give you a call and discuss other solutions.
Adjustable nose pad arms:
Adjustable pad arms are designed to lift a plastic frame up and out from the face creating a need for re-adjusting of the frame.
Frame Care Australia can not take responsibility for adjusting a frame correctly after fitting adjustable nose pad arms. This has to be done by an optical dispenser with the owner of the frame present.
The original plastic pads will be shaved off to create space for the metal adjustable pad arms.
The pad arms are mounted with small screws on the back of the bridge. If the frame has a transparent colour, the screws will be visible from the front.
Frame Care Australia reserves the right to amend these Conditions at any time.
